I've been covering sports since 2006. I began as a sportswriter at the St. Tammany News where I covered sports mostly the eastern part of the parish. When the paper closed in 2013, I was offered and I accepted the job of Sports Editor with the Bogalusa Daily News and have been there since. I am a 1995 graduate of Brother Martin High School. I was a student manager from freshman-senior year. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2005 with a general studies degree.

DeRon L. Talley, Editor of the Donaldsonville Chief Newspaper (10/12) My passion is sports writing. I've been a sports writer since a junior in high school and continued it through college where I've won several awards and now professionally where I'm continuing my success. I'm from Folsom, La. a very very small town just north of Covington and I attended Covington High School, graduating from there in May of 2008. I'm a May 2012 graduate from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) where I received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Mass Communication and a Minor in Spanish. I also was a member of the ULM Track & Field team during my freshman and sophomore year. As the Editor of The Chief, I've been able to really get involved in the Donaldsonville community volunteering at the schools and in the community clean ups. I'm also an active member of the Donaldsonville Rotary Club, where we belive Service above Self.
